Top 20 on the grid for Hafizh Syahrin
Today the qualifying practice for the Italian GP was on the Mugello circuit. The FP3 (in the morning) and both QP sessions were held in succession in the Tuscan hills.
For the NTS RW team there was ultimately no appearance in QP2, but the team of manager Jarno Janssen took another step forward with the 20th place on the grid of Hafizh Syahrin. Also for Barry Baltus the 29e place at his first appearance on this circuit was not without merit. Jarno Janssen: “It remains very important for us to continuously improve as a team. It gives us a lot of confidence to see that we have been succeeding in this over the past few weeks and today I can be pleased with the whole team as we are now in the top 20 for the first time at the start of the race tomorrow. Our drivers also have a good feeling from today’s training sessions and are looking forward to the race.”
The experienced rider from Malaysia looks back with us. Hafizh is satisfied with his performance during qualifying: “It was difficult at the start of QP1, but in the second part I was pleasantly surprised to see that I could drive these times during the rain. With this 20th place, we as a team have scored our best grid position of the year and that gives us a lot of confidence for tomorrow’s race. I’m happy with the improvements and as we manage to improve each race weekend, I’m positively looking forward to tomorrow. We will fight hard to finish in a good position.”
The race will start tomorrow at 12.20pm local time (GMT +2hrs)
