Tommaso Marcon in action with NTS RW Racing GP in Valencia
In the Valencia Grand Prix, 19-year-old Italian rider Tommaso Marcon will take the place of Jesko Raffin at NTS RW Racing GP. Marcon has been in the CEV Moto2 championship in recent seasons.
Because Jesko Raffin has obligations in the MotoE in Valencia, the Swiss is not available for NTS RW Racing GP. The team found a replacement in the 19-year-old Tommaso Marcon, who has raced in the CEV Moto2 for SpeedUp for the past two seasons. He was Rookie of the Year in 2018, and he was on podium a few times this year too. Last weekend in Valencia he fought for the podium as well. Marcon will compete in the Grand Prix with starting number 70.
“We are happy to give young riders a chance. In addition, it is important for us to gather as much information as possible from different riders. We have had several riders at the NTS this year and are curious about the information that a young rider with a fresh perspective can give us,” says team manager Jarno Janssen. “Next week, on Wednesday and Thursday after the GP, Bo Bendsneyder and Jesko Raffin will test the new prototypes for the 2020 season for the first time, in Jerez.”
