Schedule Moto2 for GP Qatar adjusted
In contrast to the MotoGP race, the Moto2 will continue in the Grand Prix of Qatar next weekend. The timetable has been slightly adjusted due to the loss of the MotoGP.
The reason that the MotoGP is cancelled and the Moto2 and Moto3 will race, is that Qatar has closed the borders for everyone coming from Italy and Japan. Riders and team members who want to enter Qatar from those countries are immediately quarantined due to the Corona virus. Because the Moto2 and Moto3 have tested in Qatar last weekend, those teams are already present.
Cancelling the MotoGP race means that the Moto2 has now become the main act of the Qatar Grand Prix. The times of the training sessions, the qualification and the race have been adjusted accordingly. This means, among other things, that the Moto2 race with Bo Bendsneyder and Jesko Raffin, will be at the MotoGP time slot, at 6 p.m. local time, 4 p.m. Central European Time.
