Gran Premi Monster Energy de Catalunya, Barry P17 – Zonta P20

Barry Baltus (P17):
“We showed in Mugello and also this weekend here that we can do one fast lap every now and then, but it is now important that we can also have a good pace in the race. We haven’t got the result we wanted in three races in a row now, but it is what it is. Seventeenth is not where we want to finish, we really need to work on that. But I have a fantastic team behind me and I am confident we can turn the tide. I apologise for today’s disappointing result, the guys in the team deserve more because they are always behind me and working hard all weekend. The next race weekend is in two weeks’ time at the Sachsenring, here we will again do our very best for a better result.”

Zonta van den Goorbergh (P20):
“My start of the race was quite good, but in turn four or five I had to brake hard because of a mistake by someone in front of me. As a result, I lost quite a few places and had to start again from the second last position. In the end I finished in twentieth place, just over 37 seconds behind the winner. If we take away the eight seconds I lost in the first lap, I think I can’t be dissatisfied with this result. In the last few laps my pace was actually quite good, that’s positive and we need to take that to the next Grand Prix weekend, the tenth Grand Prix of the season which is in two weeks’ time at the Sachsenring in Germany.”
