Difficult first day at Sepang for Raffin and Bendsneyder
The Sepang International Circuit with its long straights is clearly a very different kind of circuit than the smooth, winding Phillip Island, where Jesko Raffin and Bo Bendsneyder both finished in the points last weekend. On the first day in Malaysia the riders of NTS RW Racing GP had to deal with chatter. The results therefore lagged somewhat compared to a week ago.
After two free practice sessions, Jesko Raffin found his name in 25th place, with a time of 2.08.011. Bo Bendsneyder closed the first day in 26th position with 2.08.317.
Bo Bendsneyder: “It was a difficult day. It is the first time for me with the Moto2 at Sepang and that did not make it any easier, but the biggest problems were caused by chatter. Jesko also suffered from this. We are too far away to be satisfied. Let’s hope that we can make a step for tomorrow.”
Jesko Raffin: “This is a long track, where we struggle more. These are not the positions that we want. We are too far away from the top 15. There is a lot of work to be done, but I have hope that we can find something for tomorrow to improve.”
